What is better – grounding sheets or a grounding mat?
+
Both are great and serve different purposes. A Grounding Mat is generally used for people who like to ground during activities – such as meditation, working from home etc. Grounding Sheets are generally used for people who like to ground while they sleep. We have done our job in creating the comfiest, most sustainable Complete Grounding Kit so you don’t need to choose. The Complete Grounding Kit is silky and comfortable to sleep on, yet portable with an easy pack up and set-up, so you can use it for all your daily activities.
How sustainable is the Complete Grounding Kit?
+
This grounding mats are comprised of 35% silver and 65% Lyocell bamboo. This is a much more sustainable alternative than most grounding companies, who use a carbon/polyurethane leatherette or a polyester blend. We also adhere to sustainable manufacturing practices by processing all of our bamboo mechanically, and not chemically. Not only does this make Mother Earth happy, but it gives your grounding mat that soft, comfy feeling. Also, the box is fully recyclable cardboard, so please recycle it so we can have a greener future!
Why is a multimeter included in the Complete Grounding Kit?
+
We include a multimeter in every kit so you can rest assured that your grounding mat is perfectly conductive. This way, you can get all of the benefits of grounding without the stress. To find out how to test your grounding mat in the safest method, click here: link to video
Can I get electrocuted?
+
If your house is properly grounded, your grounding mat will not conduct electricity when only connected to the earth outlet, due to the built-in RCD system that most modern homes in Australia have. However, if your home is built before 1991, we recommend getting the electrical safety of your home checked by an electrician prior to purchasing any grounding/earthing products. As an additional safety precaution, Greener Grounding’s cable also incorporates a 100-120k ohm resistor that acts a safety fused link. To be safe, we always recommend getting a qualified electrician to evaluate the electrical safety and earthing function of your home.
Do I have to make bare skin contact with the mat?
+
While a lot of grounding companies will call their product an ‘underlay’, we do not agree. We always recommend that customers make bare skin contact with the mat for the most effective results. This is because a lot of the pyjamas we wear and bed sheets we use are not conductive, and this puts a small barrier between you and the grounding mat. If you insist on having something between you and the mat, we recommend using natural bed sheets and pyjamas such as pure cotton, bamboo or hemp, and avoiding polyester were possible. The easiest way to make bare skin contact with the mat is laying the mat across the end of your bed so your feet can rest on it all night long.
Does it work in an apartment?
+
Yes. If your home is properly earthed (which every home in Australia should be), your grounding mat will work effectively. This means you can use your grounding mat in a house, apartment or townhouse.
Is it safe for my pets?
+
Absolutely! All of our grounding mats are made with OEKO-TEX Trademarked Silver. They’re not only safe for your little ones, but also your furry friends. We recommend encouraging your animals to lie on our grounding mats regularly, especially if they don’t spend much time outside, as it can calm them down and improve their sleep.*
